A Skip, Hop and a Jump
Friday May 12, during the early morning hours an F2 tornado skip, hopped and jumped from west to east across Tulsa, Oklahoma. As it torn roofs off and uprooted trees and ripped tops out of trees my sister and brother-in-law were sound asleep. They awoke to find that it had torn the tops out of trees directly across the street where they lived and one house had part of a tree on their house. She had only a broken tiger lily. Just a block up the street it had torn roofs off of houses and uprooted trees. It truly was a miracle that she had only a broken tiger lily.
Praise God that no was one was hurt. My sister’s husband has major health problems so this was a blessing from God that they were kept safe in the midst of the storm.

Shalom Everyone:
I just want to give a big Praise the Lord to Adonai for answered prayer. All the prayers that have been going out for my day shift job with weekends off to be restored were answered by God Monday May 10th at 6 PM at work. My Boss came in and told me that as of May 21st I am returning to my day shift job permanently. I was so full of joy and praises I could'nt wait for my Boss to leave so I could shout the victory to God for what He has done for me. Thank you all for all your prayers that went up on my behalf

It has been over three months since I have been with you all at shul. However, praise Adonai for I have only missed two Shabbats!
The power of the tallit (that you my friends gave me), has kept me in the hands of Adonai. I do wish I could explain the feelings of my private shul. I have all the tools! I have the tallit, the siddur and of course His Word. But above all, I have His love. Once He has given you that, Shabbat is whole. My morning begins under the tallit with the bounty of music Mike has taped for me. During this time I sing His Praises and feel His Holy Presence! Awesome Father!!! Than I go to my siddur and the parsha readings. This FOOD is LIFE. After this I cover with the tallit again and pray for His Grace and Guidance. The only thing I am missing is Rabstor's commentaries, which again Mike has been sending me tapes. And of course the love and touch of my brothers and sister in His Holy Name.
I used to pity myself for having to come to a place I was not really happy going to. Now I am so happy because I am where He has placed me. He wanted me to know the power of Shabbat! It is so easy to do when you have a set time and place to meet with believers. But to set that time to celebrate with The One Who Gave Shabbat .... NO MATTER WHAT...is a splendor beyond description. I have found peace and beauty in so many people now. The days are precious to me.
The door opened for me with the Rabstor and Delilah. God gave them a special gift. And they have not wasted it. Yes, I had to walk through that door....but I thank the Precious Lord that He gave them the
path so I could have mine!!! All things are His!
For anyone who has not spent time under the tallit...I pray you do it. Praise Abba and Yeshua for the Shabbat!

I am grateful to Adonai for my family and home at Hope of Israel. I knew from the first time I walked into your services I was home. I am grateful to Adonai for my Sisters and Brothers, His Spirit that pours onto us when we meet in His house. I am grateful for the new song He is giving me every day. TODAY WE SET UP THE SANCTUARY FOR THE ROSH HASHANAH, IT LOOKS SO PRETTY, DA'VID BATE SO WILLINGLY CAME TO HELP US, HE'S LIKE A NEW MAN IN Y'SHUA AFTER HIS BANQUET RETREAT LAST WEEK, HE WAS DAVID AGAIN AND I WANT TO PRAISE GOD FOR WORKING IN THIS MAN'S LIFE. THE LORD GOD OF OURS TO HIM BE THE GLORY. THEN WE HAD LUNCH AT THE SUNSHINE PLACE AND THIS IS THE WORK OF ADONAI, THE WAITRESS A YOUNG WOMAN WAS SO GOOD AT HER JOB, KIND AND A TRUE SERVANT HEART, SO WE ATE AND AS I WAS AT THE REGISTER, I FOUND HER AND TOLD HER " YOU KNOW I THINK YOU WOULD MAKE A GOOD NURSE", AND SHE SAID THANK YOU SO MUCH. I TURNED AROUND AND CONTINUED WITH PAYING THE BILL, SHE THEN CAME UP TO ME AND SAID DO I KNOW YOU? I SAID, NO, I HAVE NOT MET YOU, THEN SHE TOLD ME SHE WAS GOING TO NURSING SCHOOL, AND SHE THANKED ME AGAIN. I GUESS IT TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE. THEN I WAS JUST AMAZED THAT GOD GAVE ME THIS ENCOURAGEMENT TO GIVE THIS YOUNG WOMAN. PRAY FOR HER, I AM SORRY I DO NOT KNOW HER NAME.

The Following Praise report comes from Bonnie Berry. I can't begin to tell you how this Blessed me and it will you too when you read it. All Praise and Glory goes to Adonai!!!!
Praise the L-rd for He IS GOOD!
I had made plans for Friday April 10th, and my Mother had ask that I come to their church for "Good Friday" Services. I truly believe what happened next came directly from G-d into my path. Praise Be to G-d! I went from work to their service, which means I had my Shofar in the car with me. I did not want to leave it in the car, my father came out and asked me what was in the case and I told him. He said the Pastor might want to see it so take it in. I entered into the sanctuary, where my mother greeted me and also asked what is in the case, I said "My Shofar". She calls the Pastor over to us and says" Bonnie brought her shofar with her tonight" He was excited to see a shofar and ask if I would come Easter Sunday and blow it before services. WOW...did not see that coming. Wait it gets better. I go to Shabbat on Saturday and Adonai has moved on Mike's heart to study and show ourselves approved in the matter of the Shofar. G-d is so Good!!!!! So now, I have to learn, practice and know the blessing, sounds and meanings about the shofar... Brenda and Debbie are Y'shua's vessels in this journey. Brenda gave me her copy of the meanings of the sounds in case I could not find them. Both agreed with me that the L-rd would be Blessed. I learned in two days the blessing and the meaning of the sounds that we blow through the Shofar. Y'shua allowed me to give a Siddur to the Pastor, explain the blessings of Sons and Daughters, Speak Hebrew in a little country church, Explain about the sounds and meanings of the Shofar and give Him Glory in His house. What a way to spend a Sunday. The reaction from the congregation was a blessing. most came up to me after the service to give thanks for the sounding of the Shofar. Some expressed that it moved them to the piercing of their hearts. Some said it was a beautiful sound while my father (who is not an emotional man) came up to me with tears in his eyes to thank me for bringing the shofar. I want to say here that when the desire to purchase a shofar came into me I did not have any idea what would be in my path. I have not blown a shofar before this one and had little knowledge of what the shofar is really all about. G-d expects us to know what He is all about so we can teach others. Mike Brooks is faithful and wonderfully sensitive to the Ra HaKadosh. Thank you Adonai for our brother Mike. The Pastor was so excited to hear the Hebrew blessing and spoke of seeking more knowledge about our Jewish Roots. Another door is open now to a small counrty church that can touch many lives and hearts.
I praise Adonai for using me in ways I would not have ever imaged, I praise Adonai for direction to my feet, I praise the Adonai for growing His children.

I want to thank each one at HOI who prayed for my son, Andy, who was called by Adonai to travel to Australia for 3 months of discipleship training and then onto 3 months of mission work. He received this call just before Thanksgiving. He and a friend from Maryland Church both felt the call to go. It seemed almost impossible because within just a few weeks the boys needed to raise at least $16,000 to attend. With the economy in a downturn and the holidays approaching, I wondered if this could really come to pass? And yet, something within me spoke and said that Andy and George were to go, that our Abba in Heaven would open His windows and supply according to his riches in Heaven. That's exactly what happened! In the midst of difficult economic circumstances the boys raised over the needed amount! Praise Adonai!!
They arrived in Perth, Australia on New Year's Day. Neither boy had ever flown before or been away from home more than a few weeks. The trip took almost 50 hours with lots of overlay time in San Francisco and Hong Kong. I did feel a bit nervous during the travel time and yet I also felt peace. That may seem strange, but I guess to explain it better would be like this: I felt in the physical a mother's concerns and protectiveness; I felt in the spirit the LORD of All, and our Abba, had it all under control!
I know Andy covets your prayers! Please remember to pray for him and his friend, George. It is not easy leaving everything and everyone familiar to follow GOD's call; and 6 months is a long time for young men never being away from home before this but for a short time. They will start back home June 22. Thank you for any prayers and remembrance of them!!!
I have a mother's heart: missing him, concerned for his protection, and yet wanting GOD to use him and make him significant for His Kingdom purposes. I had to put Andy's shoes away today, because just looking at them made me miss him so much and made my heart ache for my son! And yet, I am so proud and thankful for Andy's willing heart towards the LORD and His lost people. GOD gave Andy to me for awhile and now the time has come to give him back!
Thank you for any prayers for the boys! I will keep you posted on occasion as to how they are doing and where they go on their mission time. Praise Adonai for what He will accomplish!

But, I would like to praise Adonai for the wonderful example Hazel York was to all who came to know her and for the privilege of having her with us at HOI for the time we did. She was a faithful servant to her LORD and Savior and her faithfulness will be fruitful for generations to come, just look at her extended family! She was a beacon of light; lighting the way to our Abba through his son, Yeshua!
I praise Adonai for blessing us with her example to us! Thank you, Hazel, for the light you shone! That light will never dim!!

My son Paul and his fiance, Ashley were returning home after a wedding in TH this evening and a young woman failed to stop at a corner they had already entered and ran into their Ford Explorer. Paul are Ashley were not injured, just shook up. The young lady was taken to a hospital complaining of back and neck pain. Praise Adonai Paul and Ashley are okay and we pray the young woman will be restored to good health. I praise G-d for His constant protection and His Great Love. May this experience draw both Paul and Ashely into His Presence. Thank you Yeshua. Carol

When I had a stroke in 2004 Y'shua healed me, and as I found myself in the hospital last spring Y'shua healed me once again. Though I've come close to losing my house a couple of times Y'shua has saved me.
Sozo means to be saved in every way a human can be saved and I have. Blessed be the Lord God creator of the universe. Who searces for his sheep when we are lost.

I would like to offer up a praise report for answered prayer. I had requested prayer against the flooding type of rains that were predicted for our area this last weekend. I specifically asked protection for my mom's home.
Praise Adonai the prayer was answered! We didn't receive the 5-8 inches originally predicted and Mom's home stayed dry. I AM THANKFUL TO HIM and to each of you who said a prayer. THANK YOU!!

SHEW SAYS HE IS AMAZED THAT HE HAS RESPONDED SO WELL TO HIS TREATMENT, MOST OF ALL THAT HE WAS SO GOOD AND NEVER TRIED TO BITE OR SNAP AT HIM WHEN HE WAS WORKING ON HIM. I wanted to thank everyone at Hope of Israel for your prayers for my son-in-law, Jack Halstead, Jr. He had surgery this am and dr. removed bottom 1/3 of his left kidney due to cancerous mass. We praise Yahweh for directing Jack to the dr for pain he was having. Normally, there is no pain with a cancer mass until later stages and this mass was found in "early stage". Dr. believes he was able to get all of the cancer but will monitor Jack closely for a period of time. I praise our God for His goodness and healing of Jack. Psalm 91:1-4. Carol S

Recently I had asked for the church to pray for my sister Gwen Oliver as she was having open heart surgery on April l5th...She had the surgery and was home in 4 days...God was so good ...he done so many things during the time before , during surgery and after surgery...She done very well...and is progressing as she should be progessing at home.
Praise the Lord for answered prayers...and thank you all for your prayers...the family coveted those prayers and could feel them.

We are experiencing Passover in its truest sense! Josiah & Daniel had been protected in "Egypt" since January 24. We have had many miracles as God gave us two anointed lawyers and an anointed psychologist. Deno Cole was our Moses, Dr. Diana McCoy was our incredible Esther, and William and Marita Pratt were my pastors We praise God that even though the judge did not want to sign anything, she did, so Pharoah released our boys! We have already seen a great improvement in Josiah since he's been back in his own home. Words can't convey our gratitude for everyone's prayers. Lauren & the boys should be home in Illinois in about 2 weeks.

Thanks to God for this miracle!
I was 2- weeks from a double mastectomy surgery was told cancer had returned. Greatest day yesterday when my surgeon Dr Rager from Indianapolis IU Hospital called me with the Fantastic news that cancer did not come back was not a reoccurrence it was the effects from 19 months of chemotherapy and 2 ½ months of radiation. That she will not be doing a double mastectomy surgery on me i had to ask her repeat it to me 3 times .. - Thanks be to God !
I've always had faith and believed in God.
I was told you cannot ask why but God always hear's you and will be there to help you.
If God brings you to it - He will bring you through it.
I always asked in my prayers please give me strength and courage and heal me help me show me the way hold my hand.
Thank You for my friend Ramona that just had breast surgery from cancer please keep her in your prayers also.

Our Daughter Stacy and her two Kids....Cody-15 and Brittnay-13 and her Husband Donnie have been going to Church regularly now for several weeks. They have decided to join this Church and all four of them are scheduled to get Baptized at the same day. What an awesome God we serve to answer this prayer of ours and do it in only a way that God himself could do, that we would be honored to have all four of them brought into the Kingdom of God at the same time. Our Hearts are leaping with Joy overflowing with Thanksgiving to Our Lord and Savior Yeshua who made it all possible for us to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. Praise and Glory and Thanks to Adonai. As the Day of Thanksgiving quickly is approaching, I would like to thank Adonai for all He is doing in Terre Haute and the world at large! I would also like to thank Him for our congregation, Rabbi and Delilah, and the many friends I have acquired at Hope of Israel. It is exciting what Adonai is doing here in our valley!
Just a few years ago, Hope of Israel was just a vision G-D had placed within our hearts and prayers. It seems the rains of Katrina brought new growth to our city! Quickly our prayers and visions began taking root and started growing. Thank you to so many who in the past expressed they had prayed for years for G-D to do something here! Thank you, Rabbi and Delilah, for being faithful and coming to Terre Haute. There were so many places you could have went, but we were blessed to have you come to us! I want to thank Pastor Wheaton and his family for making it possible for us to meet at Mount. Pleasant. And thank you to Mike for giving us such a wonderful web site! Thank you all of you who are part of what G-D is doing here. No part is too small or insignificant. Just your presence would be missed if you weren't with us!
I want to thank Adonai for the invitation our congregation had to worship at the United Hebrew Temple a few Sabbaths ago! May He always bless, protect and redeem His chosen people. May He give us many more opportunities to love and reach out to them!
